A tasty addition to your Tu B’Shevat seder!
Mix the following in a food processor:
- ½ cup ground almonds
- ¾ cup porridge oats
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves.
Soak 1 ¼ cup pitted dates in hot water for an hour.
Drain off the liquid and blend in ½ cup dates at a time.
Shape the mixture into balls or roll out and use cookie cutters to make shapes.
Sprinkle with desiccated coconut.
You can vary this versatile recipe using other dried fruits, adding carob or cocoa powder.
